Sumqayit hopeful Easah Suliman will return to training in January

The wait continues for the return of Easah Suliman to the pitch for Sumgayit FC. The Pakistani defender, who joined the "Chemists" in July 2023 and has already made 27 Premier League appearances for the club, has been sidelined for well over a year following a severe anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury sustained last summer.

Unfortunately, Suliman's road to recovery has been fraught with frustrating setbacks. According to recent reports from Futbolpress.az, despite undergoing an initial surgery to repair the ACL damage, the subsequent rehabilitation process was reportedly mismanaged. This complication has forced medical professionals to intervene and initiate an entirely new, corrective course of treatment to properly address the injury.

Consequently, an exact date for his return to competitive action remains uncertain. Current medical projections suggest that, at best, Suliman might be cleared to resume light training after January. Given the severity of the setback and the need for a cautious approach, it is highly likely that he will not make his official return to the green grass until well into next year.
